Community Consultation

Origin and Orica are committed to genuine community and stakeholder engagement and communication. Our approach is built on being proactive, transparent and inclusive.

We plan for a long-term presence in the local community, with an aim to earn and maintain trust for the life of the project.
Through a variety of channels, we want to make sure you have the information you need, when you need it, and the opportunity to consult and provide us feedback.

We are currently preparing our approach to co-design with you, the community, including First Nations people, what long-term outcomes would make a difference in the Newcastle Region and develop a shared view on how we can support those outcomes.

If you would like to be involved in this process register your interest by emailing hydrogen@originenergy.com.au.

Previous engagement

Aligned to our Environmental Impact Statement lodgement, drop-in sessions were held in Stockton and Carrington communities in July and August 2023. You can view the informational posters presented at the drop-in sessions below.

Our commitment is to align with the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals and to respect the rights and interests of the communities in which we operate, by listening to them, understanding, and managing the environmental, economic and social impacts of our activities.
